Requirements for Admission

Residency

Applicants for either the 10-month or 15-week programs can reside anywhere, but their town or state of residency may impact their tuition rates, as outlined below

  • Applicants who reside in the nine towns that are members of the Minuteman regional school district (Acton, Arlington, Bolton, Concord, Dover, Lancaster, Lexington, Needham, and Stow) can pay in-district tuition rates for the 10-month tuition programs. Minuteman is a public school district that receives local taxpayer funds from these nine towns.

  • Applicants who reside in Massachusetts but outside of the Minuteman district towns pay out-of-district tuition rates for the 10-month tuition programs.

  • Applicants for 15-week programs do not pay tuition if they qualify as unemployed or under-employed (read our FAQs). Applicants can only obtain free tuition if they are residents of Massachusetts. The 15-week programs are funded through grants from the Massachusetts Workforce Skills Cabinet. Tuition rates are listed on the program registration pages.

Requirements of Student Applicants

  • Current high school seniors who will be 18 at the time the program begins are strongly encouraged to apply.

    • Certified translations must be provided for transcripts supplied in a language other than English.
    • An average grade of C or better in high school is preferred; consideration given for trends demonstrating improvement and motivation.
    • For applicants who have not yet graduated from high school, a letter from the current high school is required stating that the student is on track to graduate.
  • The letter should come from an employer, supervisor, colleague, teacher, or guidance counselor.
